The vibration isolation effect of WIB in a saturated medium are investigated. The effectiveness of WIB increases as its stiffness, size and thickness increase. The effectiveness of WIB decreases as its embedded depth increases. The effects of WIB on vibration isolation in a single-phased medium and in a saturated medium are compared. The analyses indicate that improper design of WIB may amplify the vibration.
