Health care workers' hands have a potential role in Clostridium difficile infection transmission. Eleven studies reported health care workers' hands contamination rate with Clostridium difficile between 0% and 59%. Two Clostridium difficile outbreaks implicating health care workers have been reported. Six series of cases of transmission from patients to health care workers have been reported.
