Species loss of larval and adult Lepidoptera is related to timber harvest method. Year effects, manifested as meteorological events, delay recovery of lepidopterans. Lepidoptera appear resilient to the first stage of shelterwood harvests. Long-term forestry studies suggests generalizable recovery patterns for Lepidoptera.
