Macroautophagy mediates intracellular antigen processing for MHC class II presentation. Atgs regulate endocytosis to increase MHC class II and compromise MHC class I-restricted antigen presentation. Viruses use autophagic membranes during their exocytosis, and some of them even incorporate these membranes into their envelopes.
