Highly porous PAN monolith without any templates assisted was prepared. Three hierarchically structured adsorbents were fabricated. The Pb (II) adsorption ability of all modified samples was determined by a series of batch tests. The maximum adsorption capacity of D-PAN, H-PAN, A-PAN was 144 mg/g, 206 mg/g, 242 mg/g, respectively. As-made adsorbents exhibit both relatively high removal capacity and good cyclic stability during tests.
