A macro/micro/nano triple hierarchical coating was prepared on titanium. A macroporous and a cortex-like structure was combined by a two-step MAO treatment. The NaOH concentration regulates the macroporous structure. The coating is super-hydrophilic and has an apatite-inducing ability.
