Properties of compact bright pulse in long optical waveguide: Higher-order effects

Influence of higher-order terms on the properties of compact bright pulse are investigated. The compact bright pulse experiences the self-frequency shift phenomenon under the action of the Raman term. The presence of the time derivative of pulse envelope induces the pulse self-steepening phenomenon. A propagating compact bright pulse is an exact solution of the system in the presence of the third-order dispersion. The phenomenon of pulse decay is not observed for compact bright pulse.
