Removal of potentially-toxic-elements (PTEs) from waste foundry sand (WFS).
A new process without high temperature, pressure, or any vigorous protocol.
EDTA, NaOH and ammonia are used as mixed extractant to enhance the removal of PTEs.
Residual contents of PTEs are reduced quantitatively to a minimum concentration.
Leachable PTEs from the treated WFS are in compliance with the regulatory limits.
