The highest conversion with high selectivity to debenzylation was observed for Pd/C.

Debenzylation is promoted by acid buffer while basic buffer suppresses the reaction.

Dissociative hydrogen and substrate are adsorbed on different types of active sites.

Aniline is produced primarily by defluorination of 4FA.

Defluorination of 4FA is not catalyzed by Pd/C under studied conditions.
