Crop damages by wild boar in 1867 km2 study area (northeastern Poland) were analyzed. Area of damages was dominated by grasslands – 24%, rapeseed – 21% and maize – 18%. Damaged crops constituted 0.41% of foraging area of wild boar in farmlands. Annual income from wild boar hunts was € 163,100 and damage compensation € 144,200. Only reducing wild boar density will resolve farmers-hunters conflict.
