The assay is visualized and the signal is amplified by enzyme-free and isothermal reactio – hybridization chain reaction(HCR). With HCR, the LOD of synthetic DNA is 1.76 pM, which is decreased by about 2 orders of magnitude comparable to the assay without HCR. And the detection limit of Salmonella is 3×103 cfu mL-1. The biosensor is suitable for non-specialist personnel and point-of-care (POC) diagnosis in low-resource settings.
