Casein hydrolyzate plus phytosterols reduced hypertension and hypercholesterolemia. The effects on vascular reactivity and cardiac hypertrophy were due to hydrolyzate. Phytosterols were responsible for the lipid profile and liver damage improvements. The reduction of oxidative stress by hydrolyzate was increased by phytosterols.
