A process-level water conservation and pollution control performance evaluation tool of cleaner production technology in textile industry was developed. The new tool has three indicators: water withdrawal reduction, water consumption reduction and water assimilation reduction. The new tool can help textile manufacturers to understand operation mechanism of a technology and take specific improvement measures on different processes. The new tool can find out indiscoverable disadvantages of a technology so that complementary technologies can be adopted.
