The extraction of the phase information from a three-phase disturbed signal is a recurrent topic in power systems. The most relevant method for grid synchronization is the Synchronous Reference Frame PLL (SRF-PLL). Variable sampling period (VSP) method, as VSP-PLL, presents advantages in processing and control systems. SRF-PLL and VSP-PLL share many characteristics and are almost equivalent. An hybrid method combines the advantages of both approaches.
