This is the first documentation of ivermectin resistance in R. sanguineus s.l. A high inter–population variation in the phenotypic level of IVM resistance was evident. All tick populations classified as resistant were reported to receive IVM treatment. Intensive use of IVM to control parasitic diseases of dogs could lead to widespread brown dog tick resistance to the ML.
