The partial oxidation of acid gas with CH₄ and CO₂ was studied using Aspen Plus software.

Using pure oxygen as oxidant was favored for H₂S conversion and SO₂ selectivity.

The fuel rich condition with moderately high temperature is promising for the high production and selectivity of S₂ and H₂.

The conversion of H₂S was restrained with presence of CH₄ since the reaction between CH₄ and S₂ reproduced H₂S.

Addition of CH₄ would allow a wider range of equivalence ratio and higher H₂ and CO production.
