Prehydrolysis liquor of wood showed a high tendency of membrane fouling. Flocculation by PAC at 500 mg/L improved flux over 102 folds. Flux was further increased by 81.2% by APAM at 50 mg/L. Lipophilic substances and lignin were key foulants for RC membranes.
