EW resulted in 1.5 log reduction of Salmonella and L. monocytogenes on whole cantaloupe. Cross-contamination was prevented during washing of whole cantaloupes by EW. EW mitigated cross-contamination during washing of fresh-cut cantaloupes. EW effectively inactivated Salmonella, L. monocytogenes, and aerobic bacteria in the wash water.
