The literature on trunk kinematics of patients with acute low back pain is scant. Trunk kinematics in patients with acute low back pain and controls were quantified. Patients had larger pelvic range of rotations and smaller lumbar range of flexions. The adopted trunk kinematics by patients might be a strategy to avoid pain.
