Seasonal and spatial variability of the benthic community A new structure of the benthic macrofauna appeared in 2012–2013. The widening of the El Kantra improved the environmental quality of the lagoon. The use of biotic indices is discussed. The ecosystem of Boughrara has undergone a transitional phase.
