Double role of silicon in improving the rate performance of LiFePO4 cathode materials

LiFePO4/C with particle size of about 200 nm was synthesized by a conventional solid-state method. Silicon plays double roles in improving the rate performance of LiFePO4/C cathode materials. Si-doping can enhance the electronic conductivity of LiFePO4 bulk phase. Hybrid coating of Li2SiO3 and C can improve the rate performance of LiFePO4.
