Firstly report of U-Th-Pb geochronology of allanite and demonstrate a metamorphic origin of the allanite-epidote in UHP gneiss from the Dabie-Sulu area. Allanite in Jingshan granite is the product of the remelted subducted Dabie-Sulu gneiss. Trace elements (low Th/U and La/Sm, high δEu and Sr) and common lead composition are potential indicators for orienting allanite forming conditions.
