FeCrAl wires as broadband THz sources were studied by Fourier Transform Spectrometer.
THz intensity mainly decreased with the increase of oxide content in 50–500 cm−1.
With the oxide content increased there was a red shift of THz spectra.
Surface roughness and impurity content of FeCrAl alloy also influenced THz radiation.
The surface oxide thickness was 5 μm with categories: α-Fe2O3, FeO, Fe3O4, Cr2O3 and Al2O3.
