Scrap tire rubber particles were ground in a fluidized-bed jet mill. The selection and breakage functions are affected by various operating parameters. Abrasion is the key breakage mechanism in the ambient grinding process. Abrasion, cleavage and fracture play the same role under cryogenic condition. The proposed cubic function predicts the first Kapur function well.
