Coiled-coil-mediated Bem3-Epo1 interaction is important for Bem3 localization. The N-terminal region of Bem3 functionally interacts with the septin ring. Bem3 self-interacts in the cells likely via homotypic coiled-coil interaction. Kss1 localizes to the cortical polarity sites in addition to the nucleus.
