The composition and ultrastructure of the leaf cuticular wax from two Brazilian genotypes of Ricinus communis were evaluated. The cultivars differ in n-alkanes, n-primary alcohols, n-fatty acids and triterpenes content. Lupeol and α-amyrin were the major triterpenes identified from different genotypes. The genotypes are devoid of wax crystals on both surfaces.
