Three Mg-5Al-0.4Mn alloys with rare earth elements were high-pressure die-cast. An addition of rare earth elements changes the phase composition of alloys. Changes in the phase composition of the alloys affect the mechanical properties. Rare earth elements cause a rise in the tensile and yield strength of the alloys.
