Cu(II) complexes with a series of three imidazole derivative ligands were synthesized. The copper(II) complex with the 2-(imidazole-2-yl)pyrimidine ligand had its structure elucidated by XRD. All complexes were characterized by spectroscopic techniques and DFT calculations. The complexes were found active over three bacterial strains, but inactive over the tested fungi.
