Four types of pores were classified and major pore types were identified. Slit-shaped pores were the major pore shape defined by both N2 adsorption and 3D reconstruction. Micropores and mesopores contributed the most to the storage space. Pore connectivity was subordinate to the marine shale. Clay minerals and brittle minerals not TOC controlled the pore development.
