Several EOCs were taken up by lettuces and translocated to leaves. Biochar was used as a mitigation strategy to reduce the amount of EOCs in plants. Biochar increased EOC concentration in soil, but reduced their bioavailability. IBU EF suggests that the addition of biochar to the soil reduces its biodegradability.
