Inferring the thermal resistance and effective thermal mass distribution of a wall from in situ measurements to characterise heat transfer at both the interior and exterior surfaces

Thermophysical properties are inferred from Bayesian analysis of measured data. One thermal mass (1TM) and two thermal mass (2TM) models of the wall are compared. The 2TM model better represents the data for two walls of differing construction. U-values, thermal resistances and mass, and its temperature, are estimated. Relative thermal resistances and masses characterise the wall's thermal structure.
