Comparison of performances of corn fiber plastic composites made from different parts of corn stalk

The performances of CFPC made from five parts of corn stalk fibers were evaluated. The results show that the stem and cob are the most suitable fibers for the CFPC. Hemicellulose and lignin showed significant effects on mechanical properties of CFPC. High cellulose content improved the mechanical properties of CFPC. The content of hemicellulose was related to the water absorption of CFPC.
