Immunization with r-autolysin induced specific antibodies capable of effectively eliminating bacteria in kidney. Immunization with r-autolysin as a candidate vaccine increased protectivity in experimental challenge. Autolysin is a valuable target for the development of vaccine candidate against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
