Processing, microstructure and properties of Ni1.5CoCuFeCr0.5−xVx high entropy alloys with carbon introduced from process control agent

Ni1.5CoCuFeCr0.5−xVx (x = 0.25, 0.5 mol) HEAs are synthesized by MA and SPS. Carbon is introduced into the HEAs by the decomposition of process control agent. (V,Cr)7C3 and V2C carbides are observed in the bulk HEAs after SPS. Tiny Carbides (∼130 nm) are distributed in ultra-fine grained FCC matrix phase. Ni1.5CoCuFeCr0.5−xVx alloys exhibit excellent comprehensive mechanical properties.
