Liquid 1-MCP could be an alternative to gaseous application to ‘Bartlett’ pear. Liquid 1-MCP across a range of concentrations and dip times delayed pear ripening. Treatment at 500 μg L−1 liquid 1-MCP is recommended for ‘Bartlett’ pear. Application of liquid 1-MCP is fast and easy and it does not require a sealed room.
