We developed an eco-hydroponic system (EHS) allowing the simultaneous production of crop and microalgae. In the EHS, microalgal biomass production and crop biomass production were enhanced due to the positive interactions. The EHS can achieve high nutrient efficiency due to co-utilization of the nutrients by microalgae and crop.
