pUM505 plasmid encodes DsbA protein with features of protein disulfide isomerases. The DbsA2 homologue is differentially expressed in the stationary phase. DsbA was shown to confer cadmium and mercury resistance. DsbA protein caused Mitomycin sensitivity characteristic of enzymes with thioredoxin domains.
