Effects of feeding frequency of live prey on larval growth, survival, resistance to hyposalinity stress, Na+/K+ ATPase activity, and fatty acid profiles in black sea bass Centropristis striata

文摘
C. striata larvae fed live prey 1 ×/d showed poorest growth and stress resistance. Growth improved as the same ration was allocated from 2 ×/d to 4 ×/d in smaller meals. Stress resistance and Na+/K+ ATPase activity were higher in larvae fed 2 ×/d to 4 ×/d. Feeding frequency of live prey did not affect larval survival or fatty acid profiles. Judicious feeding of live prey resources maximizes larval growth and vitality.
