Strategies to decarbonise energy systems should consider other air pollutants. Energy systems models can show decarbonisation pathway co-impacts on PM, NOx and SOx. Considering non-GHG pollution eliminates carbon & air quality policy tensions. Transport particulate pollution challenges will only be addressed by modal shifting.
