Here, we report to synthesize two new uracil based azo derivatives BPAU and PAAU. We studied their photophysical properties, self-assembly and aggregation behavior. Further, both the probes found highly selective and sensitive molecular systems for F− ion sensor. To confirm the suitability of probes for biological applications, receptors were successfully applied to imaging for detection of F− in living cells.
