Effective production of extracts rich in monomeric flavan-3-ols from grape pomace.

An extraction process using 40 wt% ethanol/water, at 40 °C for 3 days was selected.

A Duramem 900 nanofiltration membrane operated in a diafiltration mode was selected.

Detailed chemical characterisation of extracts and membrane fractions was performed.

Re-use of solvent (ethanol in water), used in diananofiltration, by reverse osmosis.
