Two colloidal surface systems with sodium and organic cations were simulated. Impact of surfactant coating on both sorbed and diffuse species was quantified. The interactions between water, ions, mineral and surfactant were discussed. Organic surfactant coating can reduce the apparent layer charge of clay particles.
