Facile synthesis of nitrogen and sulfur co-doped graphene-like carbon materials using methyl blue/montmorillonite composites

N and S co-doped graphene-like carbon materials were successfully synthesized.

Montmorillonite after the adsorption of methyl blue was used as a precursor.

This facile method simply involved pyrolysis followed by acid washing.

Carbon materials had N and S co-doped structures.

Carbon materials exhibited efficient electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen reduction reaction.
