A new clinical test for measurement of lower limb specific range of motion in football players: Design, reliability and reference findings in non-injured players and those with long-standing adductor-related groin pain
The literature is inconsistent regarding whether differences in hip ROM are related to groin pain in athletes. Measuring ROM can be performed in a position that reflects the biomechanics of specific sports. Differences in hip ROM tested in sport specific positions has never been tested for in vivo. Non injured players show symmetrical total sport specific hip ROM. Sport specific hip ROM is reduced in footballers with adductor related groin pain.
