A comparative study on the structural, optical, electrochemical and photocatalytic properties of ZrO2 nanooxide synthesized by different routes

Facile synthesis of nanooxide ZrO2 by solution combustion and sol gel route. Nanooxides were characterized by PXRD, SEM, TEM, EPR, BET and DRS techniques. Nanooxides with high surface area are rich in surface defects. Synergistic effect of crystallinity, surface area and band gap lead to higher photocatalytic activity. Blue LED fabricated by ZrO2 can be used for various photonic applications.
