The rate of TEA + ion transfer across the water/1,2-DCE interface has been measured. The rate constant is found to be 0.64 cm s− 1 using steady state voltammetry. A nanocapillary with an inlaid microdisc geometry at the tip is used. The measured rate constant is similar to that found using equilibrium techniques.
