Electrochemical in-situ dissolution study of structurally ordered, disordered and gold doped PtCu3 nanoparticles on carbon composites

Impact of structural ordering and gold doping on stability of PtCu3 was studied.

Structurally ordered PtCu3 nanoparticles retain more Cu than the disordered ones.

Doping PtCu3 nanoparticles with Au results in further inhibition of Cu dissolution.

Doping PtCu3 nanoparticles with Au considerably inhibits dissolution of Pt.

Particle size remains the dominant effect as regards the stability of catalysts.
