MWCNT with pendant alkyl sulfonic acid groups has been synthesized and showed excellent dispersity in water. The SMWCNT-incorporated TFN membranes exhibited greatly improved water flux of 13.2 L m−2 h−1 bar−1. TFN-0.01% membrane showed high flux recovery ratio of 91.2% after two “fouling-washing” cycles.
