Individual IVIG lots, even from the same manufacturer, have significantly different content of TBEV-specific antibodies. IVIG lots containing TBEV-specific antibodies effectively neutralize the virus in vitro as well as in mice. IVIG lots lacking TBEV-specific antibodies exhibit no immunomodulatory effect leading to improved survival of TBEV-infected mice. No ADE of TBEV infectivity was observed after treatment with IVIG, regardless on the amount of TBEV-specific antibodies present in the preparation.
