Cu2+ and Pd2+ substitutions in LaFeO3 allow to promote ammonia conversion by improving reducibility of the materials. Pd2+ substituted sample shows the best NH3-SCO performance among perovskites in view of NH3 conversion and N2 yield. The dispersion of perovskite over alumina is beneficial for the enhancement of N2 selectivity at high temperature (400–600 °C). NH3-SCO mechanism over Pd2+ substituted perovskite is proposed in which NO bond cleavage is evidenced as the rate-determining step for N2 formation.
